An Ebook or electronic book is an electronic or digital version of a book. The ebook is a term that can be understood in various ways or different interpretations as regards a device for reading books in digital format or as a work in digital format. most people use the word ebook in the second sense while the first is familiar with the term ebook device.
on the other hand we must not confuse ebook with hypertext. because the hypertext, you are bound to the structure of information through links, while the electronic book is simply the digitization of a book originally published on paper. An example of serious hypertext libraries and information collections that are in Internet links or hyperlinks organized while the ebook are sound files that can be found on the Internet, CD-ROM and in some cases accompanied on a paper book.
Ebook File Formats
Among the commonly used formats for ebooks are:
* *. DOC: Microsoft Word uses a native format closed and very used, commonly called DOC (. doc). For the wide diffusion of Microsoft Word, this format has become a de facto standard with which you can transfer text format or without format, or even images, was preferred by many users before other options such as plain text to plain text or JPG graphics, but this format has the disadvantage of having a greater size compared to some others.

The most widely used format is the PDF (readable using the program’s main owner Adobe Reader). Among its advantages may include its portability and standardization by ISO.
